SM-33

When the children woke SM-33, he accepted Fern as his new captain and showed the crew how the ship worked. Until then the droid had lain in At Attin's forest, buried along with the starship of the pirate Tak Rennod, whom he had served as first mate; after a mutiny, the ship had crashed on that very planet. Rennod had ordered SM-33 to forget everything about At Attin and to kill anyone seeking its treasure. The droid's nickname was Thirty-Three.

The droid defended the children at the Borgo Prime port, and on At Achrann, once Fern lifted his memory block, he nearly attacked them under his old orders. He then led the group to Rennod's lair on Lanupa. Bound by the Pirate's Code, SM-33 briefly accepted Jod as captain but later sided with the children. Even after Jod beheaded him, he helped KB fly the ship beyond the Barrier and summon help.
