Description
When Kay Vess was assembling her crew, Jaylen Vrax sent his bodyguard ND-5 along with her. The droid's systems started failing in a cascade, and Kay, with support from Asara Deyn's rebel cell, found him a suitable replacement regulator. After the heist against Sliro, ND-5 bent to Jaylen's will and stunned Kay, then shot Sliro himself aboard the Revelator.
Jaylen kept ND-5 obedient by means of a restraining bolt. The altered BX-series commando droid, built back in the Clone Wars, had earlier carried programming from Sliro Barsha to wipe out the Barsha family; Jaylen rewrote it and turned the droid into his bodyguard. Kay's shot shattered the bolt, and ND-5, refusing to obey any longer, killed Jaylen and then flew off with Kay.
