Akiva

In 3 ABY the rebel base on Akiva, a jungle world in the Outer Rim, sat in an abandoned underground droid factory that the Confederacy of Independent Systems had built there in the Clone Wars. The Star Destroyer Revelator, sent to strike the base from orbit, was lost in the planet's system. At the same time Kay Vess helped the droidsmith Gedeek take the droids he had created away from the Empire, which had ruled Akiva with the local rulers' cooperation since the end of the Clone Wars, and hand them over to the Alliance.

Three sides fought the Revelator at Akiva: the Trailblazer kept the TIE fighters busy until a rebel squadron showed up, and a syndicate answered Kay Vess's call for help. Pirates eventually settled in the old factory, vacated by the rebels after the Empire found their base. After the Battle of Endor, Akiva joined the New Republic, the first Outer Rim world to do so.
