Cal Kestis

Profile

By using the Force on Bracca, where he had been hiding for years since Order 66, Cal Kestis, once Master Jaro Tapal's Padawan, gave himself away to the Inquisitors. With the Mantis crew he then sought Eno Cordova's holocron and became a Jedi Knight, and later he found the way to the hidden planet Tanalorr as a refuge from the Empire.

Description

To save a friend, Cal Kestis used the Force and so drew the Inquisitors to him on Bracca, where for years he had been scrapping ships and suppressing his bond with the Force. Cere Junda and Greez Dritus got him out. Cal had been hiding since Order 66: in the Clone Wars the young Padawan served with his master Jaro Tapal aboard a Republic ship, and when the clones carried out that order, Tapal died protecting his apprentice.

With the droid BD-1 and later the Nightsister Merrin, Cal, who can read the past of objects through the Force, searched for Eno Cordova's holocron, built his own lightsaber and was knighted by Cere; he destroyed the recovered holocron to keep the children safe. Tanalorr, which Cal learned of on Koboh five years later while gathering intelligence for Saw Gerrera and after losing most of his team on Coruscant, became a Hidden Path refuge; the search for a way there cost Cere her life and ended in a duel with Bode Akuna, who had betrayed Cal.
