Kay Vess

On the moon Toshara, where Kay Vess crash-landed in the stolen ship Trailblazer, Jaylen Vrax and his droid ND-5 recruited her. Kay assembled the crew on Kijimi, Tatooine and Akiva, taking jobs for various syndicates and dodging bounty hunters. The heist on Sliro's vault ended in Jaylen's betrayal, but Kay freed ND-5 from his restraining bolt and, together with the rebels and an allied syndicate, destroyed the Star Destroyer Revelator. Her death mark then lost its force, and Kay set off with ND-5 and Nix in search of new jobs.

Kay first cracked Sliro's vault alongside Dennion's raiders, yet found no money inside: her companions were in fact rebels, there to free an Alliance agent, Asara Deyn, from Sliro's captivity. Kay's demand for payment ended with Dennion stunning her and leaving her behind for the syndicate's people. Sliro interrogated the thief himself, but Nix helped her lock him in the cell, and Kay reached the hangar, where she stole the Trailblazer. Jaylen's crew, which later hit the mansion again, included Kay's mother, Riko Vess: the woman who had taught her daughter slicing and theft and then abandoned her at twelve.
