Owen Lars

Owen Lars lived with his father Cliegg on a moisture farm near Anchorhead and hoped to turn it into a productive homestead. When Cliegg bought and married Shmi Skywalker, Owen gained a stepmother. After she was abducted by Tuskens, Shmi's son Anakin arrived at the farm with Senator Padmé Amidala, and the visitors were greeted by Owen and his girlfriend Beru Whitesun.

After the fall of the Republic Obi-Wan Kenobi brought Anakin's newborn son Luke to the farm, and Owen and Beru took the boy in. Blaming Kenobi for his stepbrother's death, Owen forbade him to visit or train his nephew. Once, in Anchorhead, Inquisitors searching for a Jedi in hiding questioned him at lightsaber-point, but he gave nothing away.

Later Owen and Beru fought off a former Inquisitor who came to the farm for Luke. As the boy grew up, Owen relied on his help with the farm and kept postponing his enrollment in the academy. He bought the droids C-3PO and R2-D2 from Jawas without knowing that the Empire was hunting them; stormtroopers who traced them to the farm killed Owen and Beru and burned their home.
