Beru Lars

Beru Whitesun came from a family of moisture farmers and never aspired to leave Tatooine. She was already dating Owen Lars when Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala arrived at his father's farm searching for Shmi, who had been taken by Tuskens. Beru later married Owen and shared the hard life of farmers on the edge of the desert with him.

When Obi-Wan Kenobi brought Anakin's newborn son Luke to the farm, Beru and her husband took the child in and raised him as their own. She was fiercely protective of the boy and often took his side in arguments with the cautious Owen, time and again supporting Luke's wish to follow his friends to the academy.

When the former Inquisitor Reva came for Luke, Beru refused to flee the farm, handed her husband a blaster and faced the attacker with him, distracting her while the boy got away. Years later stormtroopers searching for the droids the Larses had bought, which the Empire believed carried secret plans, raided the farm, and Beru and Owen were killed.
